Back scratcher made from a kit with ash for the handle. My mum has been after a new back scratcher for a while now so when I saw this kit in a turning catalogue it was the perfect way to solve the problem and give me a project to try. Now she prefers modern style items (none of that fussy Victorian stuff) so I kept it clean and simple, also the little bit of embellishments I tried to put on it in the middle were to difficult due to wiping and vibration gosh long thin projects are not easy (still learning I know a centre steady is what was required but was not expecting it to be so bad) so I ended up salvaging it by just shaping it with 60 grit sand paper to get rid of all the gouge marks I know that’s not the right way to do it but was all I could think of at the time so it’s not even remotely like my original design but….
