Several years ago, I turned a mallet out of mora (third from right). I enjoyed the mallet so much I decided to make a couple others of various sizes as well as some cabinet makers mallets. The cabinet makers mallets are made with bloodwood handles and heads made of ash. The carvers mallets are made from Brazilian cherry, mora, mora, and paduk.

My first is still my favorite. I love the weight and diameter. It is just right for nearly every application I have for a mallet.

Very nice. I built 2 cabinet mallets about the same size…but I really like your carving mallets.
