This is a entertainment center I actually built for myself. It is made from walnut, measures 60” x 24” x 27”. The finish I used way polyurethane. I love custom built items that suit my needs. I did make a mistake though, I didn’t have good enough ventilation and it cooked my surround sound system. Major bummer. I thought I had plenty of ventilation but I guess I didn’t. I think it was running about 35 – 37 degrees Celsius and it should be under 30 I think. I added more holes to the back to get that temp down. I know you can purchase fans to cool the area too.

Oh well.

It’s always 35C where I live, shouldn’t be too much for a surround sound system, maybe it was just it’s time?
Nice build, did you go with glass doors so the remotes still work? I’m not sure what to do about that when I build mine.

Yes, I did Mark. The remotes will work thru glass.

Nice BD! I’m looking for ideas for my next one – really like how you incorporated your speakers into the unit!
