This is the other cherry log half from the first one. I constructed the laser pointer and decided to give it a try and see if it works and it did, flawlessly. The bottom is 1/4 and the sides to the rim is 3/16”. It is tedious readjusting it but I only had to do that twice. Best of all, it’s a 4.99 laser from harbor freight. It’s a line laser for skill saw but I figured I might be able to make it work for that price. The plastic cap comes off and the line defuser slides off. The laser is a small line about 1/8” long but you can turn it to make it parallel to the piece.
I had planned to put a foot on this piece but when I took it out to reverse it, it just didn’t look right. Looks like an apple without a stem but the grain is nice in this piece. This may be a piece that deserves a finial, been wanting to try one. Let me know what you think and thanks for looking.
