This box stands about 4 inches tall and is about 2.75 inches diameter. The wood was given to me by a good friend back in January, along with quite a few more pieces of different woods. I can’t say I’ve ever seen anything else turned from Hawthorne, but I sure will be turning some more!! It’s not an easily available wood & I guess I’m lucky that my friend works cutting trees. I will be asking him to save me any more he may get! It cuts real nice and sands to a smooth finish fairly easy. This piece is finished with 4 coats of cellulose sanding sealer & 2 coats of pure Carnuba Wax.

That is really beautiful wood, and a great job. Love the bark edge.
Thanks for sharing,
