I built this table out of 100 year old barn wood from Naples, NY. I found the coffee table base and bought it from the neighbor of a friend of my families, when I was dropping my daughter off for a play date! My wife was rolling her eyes, but I really thought that the base would look fantastic with this top and I was right!

The table itself is 4’6” long, 27” wide, and 20” tall. I sanded it and applied Danish oil, then 5 coats of poly. I put it on Facebook and asked of anyone was interested and sold it later that day! I wouldn’t have minded keeping it, but my wife doesn’t want it. Where is is located now is where she is expecting me to build her window seat and built in shelves.

Looks great! What’s the finish you used?

I used Danish oil and poly. I know there are a lot of people who knock polyurethane, but I thinknit provides a great finish

Have your say...
