Latest batch of boxes sized 0, 1 and 2.
Hard Maple boxes with various woods for the tops. I resaw all the wood for the banding, maple is pretty forgiving as far as face vs. quarter sawn grain. Two have walnut top bands in this batch and look forward to working some more walnut for full boxes.
Really happy with the wenge tops, I have had the chunk of wenge for a long time and never got the urge to use it before these boxes.
The spalted box is flame birch and this is the sole survivor out of ten. The other nine boxes suffered super catastrophic failures, no little cracks they just snapped in half …. I may just keep this one for myself as a trophy.
Thanks for looking!
