Japanese Style Toolbox Build

This simple Japanese style toolbox was built with plans from American Woodworker Magazine, available on Google Books here.

The sturdy toolbox is meant for easy transportation, and I made it to protect my cordless tool set when in the back of a pickup.

The self locking top is a neat feature I enjoyed learning how to build.

It uses big box store 1×12 yellow pine, wood glue, and 6d/3d nails. Danish oil finish.

Likewise, I’ve made a few of these, always fun and supremely practical. Nice work.

Nice work!
And thanks for the link. Tosio Odate and Krenow in the same magazine. A great read

Thanks for posting this. Looks great, nice job. I gotta make me a few of these to replace some of those cheap plastic cases that come with tools. Thanks for sharing the link too!
