This is my second attempt at turning a small acorn box. This was a really cool way to explore the use of a press-fit jamb chuck to finish the back of both pieces. Acorn boxes seem to be pretty standard to the lathe repertoire but I still have not found a good use for it except as a desk ornament.
The top is walnut and the bottom is maple. The finish finish is paste wax.

That would be a good little grease pot thing.
