Dimensions: 11”L x 7.5” x 5”H

Materials: Sepele & Walnut

This Men’s Valet box features six 3” x 3” compartments for watches and two removable sliding trays for additional keepsakes. The box is constructed of solid Sepele hardwood, trimmed with Walnut accents and a solid figured Walnut top.

The exterior of the entire box was hand carved to resemble lapping waves along the shoreline of a beach. The surface features undulating peaks and valleys which smoothly flow into one another. As interesting to touch as it is to look at, the sculpted box offers a unique look and feel unlike any other box.

The box features splined miter joints for enhanced stability and luxurious felt lining in all compartments.

No stains or dyes were used in the making of this piece and all colors seen are the natural colors of the wood.

Beautiful box.
I took the occasion to look at your other projects too. Thank you for posting these feasts for the eyes.

What do you use to do your sculpting work?

Beautiful wood and nice use of it.

Very well done! I like the colors and your version of shaping.
There are many, many, similar ones, but everyone has their own style, thats what makes it interesting.

I first started posting this style of box ( my own design ) on LJ seven years ago and describe it pretty much like you do, great minds think alike.
I also wrote a lengthy tutorial for LJ that has been read almost 1/4 million times, encouraging others to try their hand at sculpting a box. Perhaps you would enjoy looking at some other versions of this box style?
Just type Artbox in the search bar, many others share your passion :-)
Well done Nick.
