The Hunt Board is finally finished.

Walnut case and frame. Quilted Maple and some ebony on each door. Mahogany top. BLO and Shellac finish. Bought the plans for this from Finewoodworking. Many firsts for me on this one.

Very nice piece. Where did you get a slab of mahogany with such nice figure?

Wow, is the top one piece? Great color and nice choices of woods used. Your hinges add a nice style to the piece as well as the frame beading on the panels. Craftsmanship shine throughout , well done!

Beautiful piece and the top, wow. For many first you’ve mastered them.

The single piece of Mahogany was purchased at it’s a lumber chain with three locations in the Chicago area. I love going there and browsing what they have.

The top piece of Mahogany was originally 8/4 thick and way too wide for my planer. So I planed it down with hand tools. Took a very long time, but worth the effort.
