My customer had need of some very different and very custom cabinets.
The first cabinet is an addition to an existing bathroom vanity. This is his teenage daughters bathroom. She needed to storage all of her hair “equipment” and “magic” lotions. The upper section has adjustable shelves and an electrical outlet. The lower has drawers for hiding “things”.
The other cabinet fills a niche in the wall of her bedroom. This cabinet is 36” deep and the drawers are 34” deep. They are all on full extension slides.
The hard part of this project was finding a door company that had the molding knives to match the original doors in the bathroom. The original vanity manufacture would not make a custom door. It took awhile, but found a company that could do it. The 4 door cost $407.00.
All of the cabinet material is 3/4” maple good on both sides. The drawers are made from 1/2” Baltic birch.
I did not do the painting. They had an artist come in to do that. All I did was give him a blank canvas.
This was not a fun project, but it was a project that tested my skills. I like to think that I passed.
