Top is some resawn 8/4 cherry for bookmatch (center and outer two pieces) and base is poplar. Black milk paint for the base with a waterborne flat poly to seal it up. Minwax tung oil finish for the top with a coupla coats of wax. Really do like that “tung” oil finish but I really don’t think there’s any tung oil in it ;)

I like the contrast between the highly polished wood and the roughness of the milk paint.

Used pocket hole joinery for the base. This was a very easy and fun project.

Looks great! I love the simplicity of Shaker style furniture. Great job!
