We needed a couple of side tables to match the Adirondack chairs on the deck. I ran across a bunch of assorted stair spindles at a local salvage store, and picked up a dozen for $.25 each, with an idea in mind.

I cut off the square end adjacent to the small end of the spindle, mortised the top end, and made stretchers. The tops were glued up from scraps. Sprayed primer and a couple of coats of exterior latex left from painting the house.

Result: really neat tables of the size we needed.

Cost: about $1.00 each !

Clean, crisp and neatly done. Very nice project.
