Made with walnut, maple and 4 rare earth magnets, this is fun build in anticipation of the 8th season of Doctor Who from the BBC…

The cool thing about this is like any woodworking, is that you can customize it. Don’t want a floating TARDIS? Then hang something else there, it’s pretty easy to do!

Nice work, I may borrow this idea for my sons science teachers classroom.

I like this project!

Do you have a closer shot of the T.A.R.D.I.S. ?

I have a T.A.R.D.I.S. on my to do list but mine is a present to a former colleague and friend of mine who was named Time Lord by the International Telecom Sync Forum.

Chris K-

Free feel! If you do I would love to see a picture of it!

My TARDIS is just a block of walnut with some squares chiseled in. I didn’t have the time or the skill to take it much beyond that!

Hmmm. Replace the chains with fishing line and recess the magnet and eye hooks to hide them a bit better. Or maybe use small staples to secure the line… Yep, gonna add this to my looong to-do list.

Thanks for posting it Peter.
