This is a small tea box I designed for a birthday present. The original inspiration came from the jewellery box design recently completed by Marc Spagnuolo and Gary Rogowski on The Wood Whisperer site. The method shown for creating the 3 finger joints was as simple as they made it out to be, and I would highly recommend others give it a go.
Details of the project include the following:
All made of solid Peruvian Walnut with a plywood bottom, with the interior of the box bottom lined with felt. The interior dividers are made of 3/16” cherry, and the lid includes an ebony knob I turned for the project. Hardware is brusso solid brass hinges. Approximate dimensions of the box are 11”x7”x4.5”.
Let me know your comments good or bad. Thanks

Looks great. I like how you chamfered the corners of the joints.

Great looking box. I especially love the joints. Nice choice of hardware too. Is the bottom piece glued in with a butt joint or do you have a better method?
