I build this medicine cabinet for our powder room. My wife wanted something there so I found the plans for this cabinet on some Canadian woodworking site somewhere and built it. Once it was built, my wife wanted the doors for the sink cabinet to match, so I built them.

It is all made of oak and the backing is oak ply. Drawers handles, door knobs and hinges are from Lee Valley. Everything was sanded to 220, is stained with General Finishes Golden Oak stain and I applied 4 coats of General Finishes High performance satin finish sanded with 320 after every coat.

Take care,

Joao Araujo

Thanks for posting this. Brings back memories. A family friend made one of these in walnut for my folks and it stood guard over the porcelain pot for 40-50 years. I think it got sold in mom’s auction 3 years ago. Yours is a very nicely executed example. I’m also a fan of golden oak.
