I have a pharmacist friend so I thought I would make him something to display in his shop. it is made from purple heart and Wenge. The finish is done with Masterpiece Wood Finish. 2 coats of step one which is the base coat, then 2 coats of step 2 and then on coat of step 3 which I believe to be a wax. step one is the most important step as it brings out the wood. it darkened the purple heart to a nice deep rich color and almost made the Wenge black. I like this finish except for the price. $39.95 and it is available from only one seller thereby having no competition. If you only want to buy step 1 it can be had for $19.95 plus $7.95 freight. ouch. 40 percent of the total cost is in freight for a small can. The wonderful people at Masterpiece sent me a sample and the results are shown in this piece. However when I decided to buy some the price got in the way. this product used to be $29.95 now it is $39.95 and an exorbitant amount of freight. Due to those two conditions I do not see this product growing in market share. So now the hunt is on to find something that gives me the warmth of this product without the orange you get with shellac. yes I know there is a clear.

Looking good, I bet the pharmacist friend was impressed too!

Product availibility yep! have the same issues here at times.

The GRR Ripper for one.
Then some finishes are so difficult to obtain cost and freight wise you have to wait until there is a wood working expo on to get stock.

Hey your stuff is looking great. Thanks for sharing…. Check out this site I love his products so far and they seem to be little more economical than what you were talking about…..
