Newly completed lidded bowl. The body is a piece of rainbow ambrosia maple that was a gift ordered from the Got Wood? folks in South Carolina. Very nice piece to work with and turned well. The lid is walnut with a hard maple finial. Overall size is about 9 1/2” wide by 11 1/2”” tall.
The bowl is polished with Myland’s friction polish and Renaissance Wax. The lid and finial have a Danish oil finish, buffed and polished on the 3-step Beall buffing system.
Fun project, and it encourages me to do more like it.

Beautiful. Hope when I grow up I will be able to turn like this.

Great job Ron, what a beautiful piece of wood to boot! I see you’re turning out fabulous finials as well. I’ve got to started with attempting these kind of pieces.
