Beautiful bowl, where is the story behind it?

@mudflap4869: Ha, ha. No story. Literally just a chunk of wood that I had in inventory and it’s just what I grabbed :)

@xraydav: I live near Provo, Utah, a few miles from Craft Supplies USA ( I got it at their store. This block was under $20. I wouldn’t say it’s always in stock, but for me it’s not rare. I really like the way it ends up and it is easy to turn. BUT it’s soft and reminds me of punky, rotten wood. Because the finish has sort of sealed the surface you don’t see it so much in photos, but it has lots of small voids in it. You turn a little and more “openings” are exposed. And it is deceptively light in weight. People pick it up and expect it to be much heavier but it’s as light as a feather.
