Natural edge bowl from black cherry. This tree went down over last winter at a friend of a coworker’s place. I have cut about 25 bowl blanks out of this tree and roughed them out. However, most of those are for conventional bowls. I tend to turn the NE bowls to finish when they are green and then sand them out with a small air sander. That’s what I did with this one.

Looks good. Ive been doing the same thing. A month ago, a tornado came through family land in northern indiana, and I havr access to about 20 acres of downed cherry trees. Like, hundreds of trees down. Bowl blanks for a lifetime.

At the moment it has a couple coats of Watco Danish oil on it. I will probably leave it at that. I’m not a shiny finish sort of person. If it didn’t have the bark on it I would buff it out in a few weeks.
