This is one of the first lamps I turned 8 or 9 years ago. Again the Walnut core with quarter saw en White Oak. I had at one time quarter saw en Sycamore on the widest part at the bottom of the body and a Walnut layer inside the Sycamore but it cracked very badly so the two outer layers had to be cut off. Getting everything lined up again so it would turn about the same was a job that took a lot of tweaking and adjusting to get it very close to the original settings. I do not do as many of these multi faceted lamp as it takes me 3 days to get it glued up and then it needs to set for another day or two before it hits the lathe. I usually have the turning cone in about 90 minutes and completed in just over two hours.

The Walnut layer inside the Sycamore looks good

I showed this lamp to a lady at a restaurant I was eating at a lot and she kept asking me how I glued all those little odd shaped pieces together.
