My first cutting board, made of cherry, maple and walnut. Finished with butcher block oil. Took the design from Mere Mortals Site. Fun build, tons of sanding! Will be making more in the future for Christmas presents. Dimensions 20×14x1.5. Thanks for looking.

And a fantastic first at that!!!

I’m in the middle of my first cutting board…. yup, an end grain board.
Given my propensity for procrastination….
I should have it done by Christmas!!!

Very nice work. The alignment is far superior to the first boards I made. It looks like I did it in the dark or something. For anyone interested in making boards or doing “squarallel” projects. The drum sander is the best tool you can buy. Flattens and makes smooth as glass, takes off material with no tear-out. I use mine on almost every project.

Well done you’ve done it now. Welcome to the cutting board club…. I just finished 10 of them this week. Ugh.

Great job! I’ve done many over the last couple years. Seems like everyone in the family wanted one when they saw them. Though I’ve never done that pattern. Mine are always the checker board design. I’ve been wanting to try one like this for a while.
