First three projects of mine

My venture into woodworking came to be after my wife bugged me for about five years for some night stands. I was tired of the particle board furniture that lasts a couple years then looks like crap. So, about a year ago I found some tools on craigslist and some rough cut lumber and got started.

The night stands were built with white ash for the frames, top, drawer and shelf. The side panels were 1/4” oak plywood. These she wanted stained dark so I finished them with dark walnut and some poly. This was the first time I ever:

Glued wood together
Used a planer, jointer, biscuit jointer, router and pretty much everything else.
Used a table saw on a project that required some precision
Stained and poly’d

While going through the lumber i found some hickory so I decided to build an end table. On this one I wanted to try some tung oil. I really like the application process and the finish it provides.

Great job with that. I’m sure you had fun and more to come.

Randy, that is a lot better than my first project some 50 years ago as all I had were my father’s tools and he was not a woodworker.

The way you project look you are good and going to get better with each project.
