I have so little room in my basement but I also need a router table. This is the compromise that I came up with. The top and fence are half inch birch (I think…) ply and the sides and hook are an old piece of 3/4 ply I had laying around. The dust collection is quite good if the blade is at all within the fence. Not so much if I’m cutting dadoes but it’s a work in progress. Router is a Porter Cable 890. The reason I chose this motor is the base has a “lift” mechanism built in. It’s really worked out well for me and I’ll upload my first project (which is in the finishing booth right now) on it shortly.

Thanks for looking and any suggestions on dust collection are appreciated.

Thanks for sharing the idea and the pictures. I have been putting off building a router table to put on my TS as I am hesitant about inletting for an insert. You have given my an idea for fastening the router directly to the plywood.

Hey I just got home from fishing and just saw this. Looks good and perfect for your small basement.
