July, 2014—What to do with some small scraps of plywood and some left-over veneers? Here is the result. A small box with a lift-off lid. The size of the box was determined by the size of my scraps. :-)

Four different veneers are used, so each side is a different wood. The plywood was not very pretty so I stained the inside of the box black. Small feet glued to the bottom. No fancy joinery on this one. The lid is poplar, stained a red cherry. Completed with gloss water-based poly. Soup can shown for scale.
