Princess Castle Bed

This is my attempt at a princess castle bed. Nothing too original from the design… although I added an eight drawer dresser with ball-bearing slides to the side and a small upper cabinet on top of the dresser for her access from the bed. The bed is made of maple plywood and trimmed in poplar. Overall, it was a pretty easy and enjoyable project… the only exception being the upper castle trim on each piece – very monotonous (and painting… some people find it very enjoyable to paint but I am not one of those types of people.) As I previously stated, nothing too unique for this type of project, but the reaction I received from my daughter makes it spectacular. She thinks she is the only person out there with a bed like this :) Sorry for the poor pics, I always forget to take step-by-step pics once I get started.

Oh lord, the return of the Pink and Lavendar. Whew! My stress level went way down when I got rid of those colors in my daughters bedroom.

Oh yeah! It’s a wood project!

I say it’s outstanding. I have never seen a better bed set for a child. The design and execution make my jaw drop. This is on my favorite list for the grandkids (If and When). Thank you very much for sharing.

I can only imagine how much she loves it. You are the NUMBER ONE DAD HERO in her book for sure!

My granddaughter has several of those same posters in her room. Seems to be a very popular theme for young girls.

My daughter (she is 2.7 years old) was staring at the photos declaring “daddy make this for me!” Great job!

Absolutely beautiful. I know your daughter will always remember it. However, you just gave me a new project as my five year old granddaughter wants me to build one tonight. I asked her to give me a few days…added to favorites. Great job.

I made the mistake of looking at the pics while my 5 year old daughter was sitting on my lap. I think you see where this is going…

It’s a great design and well built. Nice work!
