The wormy chestnut came from a stereo console built by a gentleman over fifty years ago. When he passed away a few months ago, his daughter called and commissioned me to make boxes out of the console for she and her siblings and all the grand children. Here are the boxes as they looked after being repurposed. The finish is Watco Natural Danish Oil and wax. Fun project!

Very nice repurposing, and a great remembrance for his family.

Wormy chestnut is my favorite to look at. Nice work. Very thoughtful of you and the daughter.

All of these boxes look fantastic, but my favorites are the ones with the swing top lids because I haven’t seen anything like that before. This was a great idea way to share something from a beloved father and grandfather.

Good job and for such a wonderful cause. I’m sure each recipient was happy. Really like the ones on the left with the legs. Thanks for sharing.

Love the designs, very unique. And the quality of the workmanship apparent. I especially like the ones in the midde with the lift-out tray.
