Just finished my first real wood project. It’s a cherry coffee table with a tripod base. I used General Finishes Arm R Seal satin finish. Turned out pretty good I think.

That is an attractive and unique design. I really am interested in the angle you used to cut the base to get that tripod. I was playing around with some ideas since I want to build a coat tree with a tripod base. this might be a very good solution. Also, what joinery method did you use for the base?

Thanks. Those are 60 degree angles on the base. To join everything I used wood glue and pocket screws.

Doug, Looks like your images are turning landscape automatically. Take them with an iPhone? I’ve found that if I open them up in an image viewing program they usually look correctly positioned. Use the rotate feature, even if showing correctly, then exit, and when you import them into a lumberjocks post they’ll show up like you want them to. Worth a try.

Nice table.
