I started my 3rd project a few days ago,I have limited tools so I am doing projects that ican do easily with little fuss,i was in the carpentry store looking at blacks for woodturning and I thought this blank in spalted beech looked great,so i bought it even though I have no lathe,I bought a cheap power drill a forstner bit and danish oil,I decided on making a mantle clock with it,I think the spalted beech and gold clock look great together.I used my mouse sander to round the edges and place a flat on the bottom for it to stand on.I hand sanded it to 200grit and applied danish oil, that is the 1st coat.I have to research how many more coats of danish oil and what finish to apply over the oil.
