This Camphor Chalice is made from a local tree and has beautiful grain and coloring. It is made from two pieces that were rough turned, allowed to dry and then finish turned and assembled. This bowl is 7 1/2 inches high by 7 1/4 inches wide and finished with satin lacquer. Normally I remove the pith, but it didn’t crack too bad so I left most of it.
The last picture is different lighting and brings out more of the colors in the wood.
The camphor was extremely aromatic during the turning process.
