Standing Mirror

My wife asked me to hang a full length mirror on the back of the closet door. That seemed too easy so, in typical fashion, I decided to make it more complicated and build something. This was inspired by a project I saw on The New Yankee Workshop. It is made of mahogany and stained to match our bedroom furniture. I finished it with Blonde, dewaxed shellac.

I took a picture to the foot because I thought the grain was so nice. This was my first experience with mahogany so I guess I’m still in awe with how nice hardwoods look when finished.

BTW—my wife is happy with the alternative even if it took a bit longer than she had hoped for.

Very nice job Bill. I can imagine your nerves waiting the mirror to stay at equilibrium

Keeping she happy is a must. Congrats on your first project
