My daughter conducted a flute group at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. The exact locations where they would play was not known ahead of time, so the lay of the land was unpredictable. I made several music stands with wide bases and a wide surface for the music to sit in. If needed they could use small stakes to stabilize the stands, and the music was kept in place using spring clothespins. The kids performed magnificently, even once playing for the Royal Court.

Thanks for looking in, lumberjocks.
