My son has managed to amass an impressive amount of stuffed animals in just a few short years. Awhile back my wife ran across an “animal zoo” online which seemed to be a great idea,, with a not so great price-tag (funny how that is always the last thing she seems to notice:)) I beleive it was priced at a couple benjamins, so incited the rush trip to the big box for some maple/poplar. 12 mortise&tenons later we were back to seeing our floor. This was my first real project and what spurred my re-interest in woodworking. Its not the prettiest, or the best design, but it serves its purpose. (I shake my head every time I look at it , thinking of all the things I would do differently only 6 months later). I can’t wait until my son tries to climb on it, I imagine he will be in for a little surprise….

Looks good. But as a paramedic, makes me a bit nervous as a tot could get the lines wrapped around their neck (or at least it appears it could possibly happen from the picture).

Please don’t take this the wrong way. Not trying to stir a nest up. If I recall, with railings, if a 6” diameter ball can fit through slats of a railing, it’s too wide.
