I started shaving with a shavette razor in Feb. 2014. A shavette is a straight razor style razor with disposable blades. For Fathers Day, Michelle bought me my first straight razor. So I needed to build a stand for my boar bristle and badger hair brushes and my straight razor and shavette. I used Cocobolo wood. You can view the photo album of the build at :

Very nice! Functional and good to look at.

I use a DE safety razor myself. I have a cheap wooden brush stand I bought online a while back. I need to build one that will hold my brush and razor.

The best thing is to build it yourself…. My it yours, custom!

As someone dangerously close to slipping into the straight razor world, this project is appealing. Totally off topic, how hard was it to learn to use the razor without nicks/cuts?
