Small Maple Box

This little box is turned from a silver maple tree that was cut down at my grandma’s yard several years ago…..plenty of time for nature to give it some character. The lid is a little tight hopefully due to higher than normal humidity here. I had it all finished (gloss lacquer) then decided to make a few small recesses so you can separate the lid easier. This is the end result after refinishing. I’ll definitely be doing more with this wood. I love the green streaks through some of it. This piece has a just a little, which you can see in the third picture. The inside just has a little wax applied.

Great job. Would make a good gift box for jewelry.
