I decided to try making ink pens from wood.

I watched the free DVD from Penn Industries, then ordered the materials to give it a try.

It took me about 6 trials steps to figure out a process that worked for me. I blew up at least 4 blanks, before I figured out a process that worked for me.

My first two successful pens are shown in the main posting picture. The slim one is rosewood, the red one is Padauk.

If you want to know the process that I figured out that works for me, see my web site.

Next is the 50 cal pen, and the bolt-action rifle pens.

Each year I make woodworking items to give to family/friends as Christmas presents. I am adding ink pens made from wood on the list of gift items for future Christmas gifts.

Dale, They look like good firsts, they do make good gifts for family and friend but watch out it can be very addicting.
