I built this rolling work bench about 2 years ago from scrap 2×6 lumber. I use it every day as this is my only work surface in the shop. The top is 48×30 x 2 and is 2×6 spruce lumber also.

It has wooden bench dogs along the front. Has 14 drawers that can be accessed from both sides. Although I still get confused sometimes as to where something is. This thing holds a ton and keeps everything close at hand.

It is the same height as my table saw so it doubles as an outfeed table, infeed table and side support when needed. Very handy for cuting sheets of plywood.

I put t-slots on the edges so I would be able to attach a holder for my dust collector for when I am sanding. It works ok.

It has been through allot and has had lots of dark stain spilled on it and sprayed over it. Yes I know some of you guys will cringe at it looking like this. But hey it is all made from scrap.

A lovely patina… Ample drawer storage… Excellent functionality… Top craftsmanship… What’s not to love?

If you aren’t getting your bench messy what is its purpose. It is called a work bench after all…LOL. Nice build.

Love that it’s made with scraps and has a workman’s charm

Nice. I am going to make a bench in a few weeks. I like the ideas of drawers. Were the drawers on glides? I ask because I don’t want to use glides on my bench, i just want the drawers just open. Looks just like the way i need to build. Great job.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

Chetrog: The drawers slide on a 2mm x 18mm peice of hardwood. The bottom of the drawer sits on the wood. This way I didn’t need to make dadoes in the sides. I put slip it on all my wood sliders and it works awesome and lasts a long time.
