Keep sake, baby box

I made this because one of my closest friends had his first baby and I wanted him to have something to collect all the little things he will find sentimental along the way.
The box is solid Walnut. The grain follow’s round, the box is mitred, the top is just held on a groove and a rebate. The only interesting thing was the mitred piece on the front of the lid. I wanted to make a slightly concealed way of opening it, partially for protection but more so the fact that I really had a thing for cubism I think. :L.
Any way, hope you like it. Any questions feel free.
And thanks for your time.

Nicely done Mat. I like the detail on the mitered corner to hide the joint. You did a great job on lining up the grain on this one. Lining up all four corners can be a bit tricky.

Thanks very much. Haven’t had chance to make much stuff for my self recently. I’m hoping I will have a bit more to post soon tho. :)
Cheers for the feedback
