Letter Openers & Paper Bin

I thought I would show some of my woodwork. The letter openers are made from Australia Wattle.
The paper bin is made from laminated pine.

I have never hear of Wattle. Is it a big tree?

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your compliment. Where I live it is not that big but a man it grows all over the place.
It only last about 10 years it is a shame its not always a great timber to use all the time.
Sometime it splits when it drying out but you can still get good bits from it. It is a shame
because it is a beautiful timber. The best Wattle you can get is Tasmania black wattle.
