Playing Card Holder

My soon to be 4 year old son has started to really enjoying playing card games but needed something to help organize and see all the cards in his hand. I did a quick google search to get a foundation of ideas and came up with this design. Dimensions are 1/2 oak cut to about 10×6. 3 45 degree slots cut to hold the cards, roughly 3 or 4 inch back piece to create the pitch. 2 small brass hinges picked up at Rockler to help make for easy storage. Finished with Danish oil…so far it is a hit.

Very cool, that same idea is what started me in the woodworking game. A card holder for my son was the first piece of wood I ran through my table saw, its been a runaway hobby ever since!
