I made this 2 player Chinese checker game box out of a junk headboard and a junk mattress. The bottom is a matching floating panel. The top slides out to store the pieces. I used golf tees for the pieces as they are a lot easier to find than matching sets of colored marbles. To reinforce the miters I cut three splines per miter. I’m not sure what species the body of this is but I used dark green poplar for the splines. I think this would do pretty well at craft sales and it’s really easy to make and doesn’t take much wood. You can make the entire project out of a 48” piece of 1×8.

Here’s a video showing the build:

Jay thats pretty cool. I don’t think I’ve seen a 2 player version before. I’ve gotten a number of request for Chinese Checkers but have always figured it too large.
Thanks for sharing.

Purdee ingenious Jay. I like the simplicity of it with the golf tees. It’s a very nice looking game and box.
