Finally got my first bandsaw boxes done, took me awhile to get them done because I didn’t sand them well enough and had to redo them after putting finish on them, then got side tracked but they’re finally done. Don’t know why i decided to do 2 different ones for my first time, probably should have done one for practice first but i didn’t. The designs are from The Drunken Woodworker which made it easier using a template but i still wasn’t very steady on the bandsaw, it also didn’t help it being the first time i cut curves on the bandsaw, probably should have practiced haha. Anyways, the woods are spalted maple/walnut, and cherry/maple. Really wish i had a spindle sander, would have made sanding a lot easier.

Well done, you are off to a good start. The challenge now is to make you own designs.

Careful, Band Saw Boxes are addictive. You’ll enjoy them more and more and one day everybody in your family and all of your friends will have one but you keep on making them and they start creating a space problem in the shop. They are everywhere so then you have to make shelves to display them on. And yet you will continue to make even more.. I even dream of designs that I have no way of making. I’m beginning to think I should have taken up drinking instead

Be careful, be very careful!

Really nice boxes. I made two band saw boxes, decided I needed a spindle sander. Bought one, have not made another box yet! I use the sander a good bit. I will make some boxes one day.
Thanks for posting

That’s a beautiful set of band saw boxes! Well done.
