It has been a long time since I have posted anything. Hope to get back to my woodworking projects.
This is one of my wine boxes. The bottom comes off. Just a quarter turn and access is permitted to enclose the wine bottle. I used a keyhole bit for this purpose. This was for my son, an avid re-loader.
The body is made of popular that I glued up in sections small enough to drill a hole big enough to hold a bottle of wine. The segments were then glued all together and turned on my lathe. The top piece was basswood, turned and glued in place. The inside was also sanded and fit quite well with little if any overlap where the glue joints were. A fun project.

I’ve never seen one like this. It’s very creative and definitely a conversation piece. Nice work.
