Tried several ideas, this box joint jig from Shopnotes is hands down above all that I made,,, SUPER, it cuts ANY width of box joint that my adj. dado can adjust to cut out to.

Very good! Will it also work on a router table?

Hey Hello Bryan, The issue was #8 (Plans Below) so you can see that was quite a while ago for this jig when it first appeared. The problem with a lot of shop made box joint jigs is the width of the pin, the spacing of the pin to the blade’s cut in all of this in making it, if you are off just a bit off, the longer the wood that your box joints will lock into, that being off that little bit. Magnifies the futher you go. On this jig, the pin is adjustable THEN the space is adjustable to that pin. Man, I can tell you that after a little bit of adjustment with the jigs fine threads, and a couple of test cuts (I keep scrap just for this) it is right on !!!! No fuss no mess !!! Think very searious on this excelant jig…..

Jr, Hummm don’t know ???? Ya know i can see that it might. You would have to size your guides ,and the distance to the bit, to the router tables top dado guides, from the saws. Then If from your table saws miter dado to the router table was off a bit then there would be to much slop———BUT,,,,unless your guides were the store bought adjustable type. Just might work !!!! BUT if it was made just for the router table, different bit diameter OD restricts your choice of size of box joint taken into consideration,,,,,sure.

Have your say...
