This is a cutting of a friend’s new baby. Cutting with black velvet cloth backing sandwiched between resawn, re-glued pieces of soft maple.

Doug,

Great job!

The cutting is really sharp, but the pattern you created from the photo is the real winner!

The eyes and eyebrows particularly are very nice!

Cheers

Very well done! You have captured the sparkle in the eyes. Something that is difficult to do. Great job on the pattern also.

I was anxious to open this post to see WHOS baby you cut, and WHY!

Very intricate work… very nice too!

Did you use a specific program to get the silhouette pattern?

That is something else! How thick is the front veneer?

ArmyLifer – there is no veneer. The cutting is creating by taking a 1” thick board, splitting it, cut the image out of one of the boards, then sandwich them back together with a piece of black velvet between the two and glue back into the single plank.
