Wow, I was expecting something like a knife block for the kitchen, this is awesome.

What is the back drop, some kind of Burr?

The middle piece on the back board is a burl piece I slabbed out. So are all the attachment parts for holding the knife. Usually all made from the same piece. The maple is called a few names , I like” Quilted maple”, myself. Thanks for the comments, Don’t get out much , It’s nice to have a spot to share.

very ,very cool. Do you make the knives? I work with a guy whose been making blades and handles for years. I had the chance to make a knife for my brothers first born ( with plenty of guidance). But is a very interesting process.
