Here is a cheese board I made. Originally wanted it to be a cutting board but I used some river red gum firewood which had some minor cracks throughout the wood and I didnt have time to properly finish.

the centre piece of wood is Tasmanian Blackwood and the outer pieces are River Red Gum from a block of firewood. Finished with bees wax and mineral oil. Final sanding was 400 grit so it almost feels like fabric to the touch. Very soft. I was given a deadline that I wasn’t expecting so it is a bit rough around the edges but not too bad.

Cheers – Jimmy

I always like recycled firewood projects and the is a great example.
Nicely done.
