My first attempt with walnut, red oak and birch. Size 24 X 30 cm. Finishing is with extra virgin olive oil and beeswax.

Not bad. I am not sure about using EVOO though I have heard it can leave an unappealing smell after awhile but I am not sure.

I built a side grain cutting board in 1988 and I finished it with straight canola oil and it never smelled bad, I’ve used it every day since and I’m still alive.
