My wife likes to sit at a table in the morning and write in her prayer journal. She was using a card table, however we have a cat which has an annoying habit of jumping up on a table or desk when someone is sitting at it. He is large enough that when this happens, the card table shakes, and sometimes spills a drink. So I decided to make my wife a more substantial prayer table.
Several things are notable about this table. It is made completely of reclaimed yellow pine pallet wood. It is also the first project I have made complete of lumber, no plywood used here. And it is my first try at inlays.
The top is laminated edge grain wood, the rest is standard stock cut from the pallet wood. Finish is American Walnut Ultimate wood stain by Rustoleum covered by Minwax poly satin.

Good work, nice inlays. Are you going to make drawers for the shelves?
